Rohini turns director

She is a lyricist, writer, speaker on women’s issues and an able actor. And now, she is all set to plunge into filmmaking.

Rohini, who has been a part of many memorable films in Tamil including Marupadiyum, Magalir Mattum and Virumandi, is all set to direct a movie.

This film has been titled Appavin Meesai, and will be produced by actor-filmmaker Cheran! Speaking to City Express, Rohini confirmed the news. The actor and voice-over artiste did not divulge more details and said an official announcement would be made by the producers soon.

It may be noted that the actor recently penned all the songs for the film Malaipozhudhin Mayakathilae. She had earlier written one song for the movie Pachaikili Muthucharam.

In 2008, Rohini had directed a documentary Silent Hues about child artistes, the actor being one herself.
