Actor Vidharth has signed two new films , the titles of which have similar connotations — 'Vedikkai' and 'Vilambaram'. But the actor says they are completely different, right from the genre. “While 'Vedikkai' is a commercially-packed action film, 'Vilambaram' is a realistic movie that will give audiences the effect of watching a Korean movie,” says Vidharth. 'Vedikkai' is directed by a debutant Pragadeswaran, who earlier worked with Balaji Sakthivel, and has 'Album' actor Aryan Rajesh playing the villain. “Aryan’s character is equally important,” says Vidharth.
'Vilambaram' is to be directed by the ad-filmmaker duo, Ram and Lakshman. “The movie is about relationships and I play a painter,” says Vidharth. The filmmakers reportedly approached the actor after watching his film 'Kollaikaran'.
The actor, who recently returned to Chennai after vacationing at Thailand, is now waiting for permission from the forest department to resume shoot for his forest thriller 'Kaatumalli'. “It’s hard to get permission in summer as animals usually come out of their regular habitats in search of food,” says Vidharth.
If the permission is further delayed, the actor plans to start one of his other two projects by May 25.
