While singer Mano’s last appearance as an actor in Kamal Haasan’s Singaravelan (1992) still appeals to audiences on TV channels, the dynamic singer has returned to silver screen again. He is playing one of the three lead roles in the upcoming film Vetri Selvan, in which actors Ajmal and Dhoni-fame Radika Apte play the lead pair. “Ajmal plays a medical college student and Mano sir plays a music college professor.

Sheriff, who won a dance reality show on a private channel is playing a dancer in the film. The film revolves around all three of them, who couldn’t live the life they aspired for,” said director Rudhran.

The director says that Mano’s sense of humour is unimaginable. “I don’t know if he was not offered roles in films or he himself avoided the offers, but it’s sad that we haven’t utilised his skills yet,” he says. The director opines that his character in the film will have the flavour of veteran actor N S Krishnan and is confident that it will score well with the people. Now with Mano known to everyone with his hugely popular television appearances, he is sure to strike a chord with audiences this time.
