Richard Rishi, who is a well-known actor in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries and the brother of actor Shalini Ajith, will soon tie the knot with Sathyalakshmi, the granddaughter of poet and lyricist Kannadasan.

The couple’s engagement will take place on September 23 in Chennai, while the date for the wedding is yet to be fixed. “It will take a couple of months after engagement,” says Richard. It is not exactly a love marriage, according to the actor. “Our families are friends for a long time and we know each other since we were three-years-old. We thought about getting married only recently,” he says.

Sathyalakshmi, a dentist by profession, also produces films under the banner AG Creations. Their first film titled 'Ponmaalai Pozhudhu' is to hit the screens soon and Sathyalakshmi’s brother Aadhav is debuting as hero in the film. “I hope they will produce more movies in future,” says Richard.

Richard is currently part of four Tamil flicks — 'Rendavathu Padam', 'Koothu', 'Sutrula' and 'Jadaayu'. “I’m currently shooting for 'Jadaayu', which refers to the bird in Ramayanathat can fly at the highest altitude. 'Rendavathu Padam' is almost complete and it will release first followed by others,” he says.
