CHENNAI: Chennai's film stars, who have yet again proved that they can both make hit movies and hit the ball out of the park in a game of cricket to win it, celebrated their success in this edition of the Celebrity Cricket League at the Green Park Hotel on Sunday.

The team, which is better known as Chennai Rhinos, defeated the Karnataka film industry team called Karnataka Bulldozers in the final of the CCL which was held in Hyderabad recently.

Answering questions posed by mediapersons on the occasion, actor Vishal, who is also the captain of the Chennai Rhinos team, said, “All the boys contributed a 100 percent and it was because of their contribution that we were able to retain the title of being CCL winners.”

Vishal had a special word of praise for actor Vishnu, who, after playing an important part in the team’s victories in the league matches, had to sit out of the final due to a serious injury to his arm. “Vishnu is a very committed player. In fact, even after doctors said that he would require a surgery, I asked him if he could play the final. I asked him if he could bowl as the injury was to his other arm. I don’t know if it was even right on my part to ask him that. But even before I could ask, Vishnu tried moving his arm despite the serious pain he was in. We found he could hardly move but even with that arm, he was there on the field cheering for us. Every time, one of us misfielded, Vikranth and I would point to Vishnu and tell the fielder concerned to look and learn from him.”
