Though acclaimed director Geetha Krishna’s film Nimidangal hit the screens in very few theatres on January 4, he is happy with the response.
The movie that has actors like Sashan, Priyanka, Suman and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles, has also been released in Telugu and Tamil to positive reviews.
Geetha Krishna said the different kinds of stories that he read in the newspapers every morning made him direct the flick.
“It’s a fresh take on international terrorism, narrating the story of the hero is emotionally entangled in the problem is the film about,” he says. A popular director in Telugu, Geetha Krishna earlier made a film titled Time in Tamil with Prabhu Deva and Simran. The director, who is well-versed in music, has himself scored music for the film.
“Actually, we are sending the film to festivals without songs. Songs have been included in the film only for the theatre audience,” he says.
Geetha Krishna says he is thankful to Sun TV, as they have purchased the rights of the film in both Tamil and Telugu and has asked theatre owners not to decide the fate of a film even before people watch it.
