Post  Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani (YJHD) with Ranbir Kapoor, Bollywood actor Deepika Padukone is gearing up for the release of her upcoming films including the Tamil period flick Kochadaiyaan, with namma Superstar. The actor, who was in Bangalore recently for YJHD promotions, spoke about the historical 3D flick as well.

When asked to pick her favourite co-star from Rajinikanth, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranvir Singh, with whom she has been shooting Ram Leela (Hindi), the leggy lass said she couldn’t compare Rajinikanth with the other two. “Each one is unique. I can’t compare Rajinikanth with Ranbir or Ranveer, who are relatively very new. All three are very different personalities,” said Deepika.

About the Superstar, Deepika said he was a down-to-earth person. “When people ask me how it was to work with Rajini Sir, I say it was humbling because that was what I took home from the days I shot with him. As for Ranveer, he is extremely comfortable and full of energy. Ranbir is very unaffected — calm at all times. He is like a plateau. The only time he is excited is when he is giving his shots.”

YJHD, according to Deepka, is a love story set in today’s times and is for youngsters. “Of course, parents who associate with contemporary culture will also enjoy it. The film is not only about relationships of the boyfriend-girlfriend kind, but also about the relationship we share with friends and family. It looks at the journey of four characters and how they evolve,” she said.

Deepika’s performance in Cocktail set high expectations about her other projects. “The intention is to better your previous work. That is what drives me. That is what I see as competition. I want people to talk about my latest performance and say, ‘Wow, she has grown since her last film,” she concluded.
