Mundasupatti gets sequel order!

Express News Service

If you loved Vishnu’s whole 80’s routine in Mundasupatti, then here’s some good news — buoyed by the great response, the producers have decided to take it forward and make a sequel to the film. But any such work will only happen after January 2015, says producer C V Kumar. “I need at least 7-8 months time to complete the other projects I have on my hands. It’s good to see the audiences’ overwhelming response for offbeat films these days and when Fox Star Films asked me if we could do a sequel, I said ‘yes’. I haven’t zeroed in on the cast nor anything for that matter,” says Kumar.

And not only are the producers planning to base the sequel on a superstition again, they’s thrown the floor open to fans to send in their story ideas with the promise that the best one will be selected and used in the sequel. Released in theatres 25 days ago, the film has been doing great business and has collected a roaring `10.5 crores — which is an immense return on investment for the producers.

So will people get to see Vishnu, Nandita, Kaali Venkat and Ramdoss (Munishkant) reprise their roles in the sequel? C V Kumar being the kind of producer who doesn’t waste time or money and is known to have an astute eye for making great films knows best.
