Sruthi Hariharan, who was the face of Pawan Kumar’s Kannada hit Lucia, has signed for a supporting role in Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe, directed by a well-known artiste-turned-director Lakshmi Ramakrishnan.
Shruthi, however, has her hands full with offers from Mollywood and Sandalwood. Her last outing was Savari 2 in Kannada, and has now completed shoot for Raate with AP Arjun. Currently, she is shooting for Sipayi, which according to her, will keep her busy for the next two months. Talking about taking up a supporting character in the Tamil movie, Shruthi says, “I signed the film because of director Lakshmi, who also happens to be my family friend. I believe that it is a strong role. Shabir and Pia Bajpyae play the lead roles in the film,” says Sruthi.
Revealing about her character, Shruthi says, “The film is a road story and I play a village belle. But you don’t see me as an innocent character. I come across as stubborn and strong. I shot for 10 to 15 days. The shooting took place mainly in the outskirts of Chennai. I also have a song in the film, the music of which has been rendered by Shankar Mahadevan. The way the song is presented makes me feel that it might add strength to my role in the film,” she says.
Shruthi hopes that the role will bring her some recognition in Tamil industry. “I believe in the character and the director. I don’t know where this will take me. It is left to god. I really enjoyed working with the team. I was pampered a lot on the sets and it was a good learning experience,” she says.
