Veteran actress Manorama, who has acted in over 1000 Indian films over the past 5 decades, was hospitalized at Apollo Hospital on Sunday evening.

Veteran actress Manorama, who has acted in over 1000 Indian films over the past 5 decades, was hospitalized at Apollo Hospital on Sunday evening. Hospital sources that she was brought to their Greams Road hospital complaining of chest pain and had been admitted for testing. "She is not in the ICU, but doctors suspect that it is a cardiac problem. Tests have been conducted and the results are awaited," said the source.

Doctors have hinted that there may be a need to do an angioplasty, but no call has been taken yet. Aachi, as she has been fondly called in the industry, has been admitted to the hospital in 2013 for a UTI and back problem and in 2012 after she slipped and fell in a bathroom. She was last seen reprising her role in the Singam franchise, appearing in in Suriya's Singam 2 last year.
