Vasanthan Lambasts 'Miscreants'

Express News Service

Seeking to put an end to the controversy over his observations on the issue of music director Ilaiyaraaja’s recent response to a question posed by a mediaperson, music director James Vasanthan has tendered an apology to the fans of the maestro.

In a statement, the music director, who shot to fame with his music for Subramaniapuram (2008), said, “The recent developments around my views and comments over Raaja sir’s comments has snowballed and has become bigger than ever. I want to put a full stop to this by saying sorry to his fans who I understand have been hurt by my views.” The music director however pointed out that there were a few mischief mongers who were putting out false messages using his name.

“There are a few miscreants who are maliciously posting false messages using my name and picture just to make it serious. It started last evening and that’s why I had to deactivate my Twitter account,” the music director said and urged fans to not believe them.

“Please don’t fall prey to it and believe their concocted stuff. As you all know, I speak my mind but I will be the last one to hurt someone and definitely not the Tamil community on the whole,” Vasanthan clarified.
