CHENNAI: Tamil actor Krishna Kulasekaran, who has been married to his long-time girlfriend Hemalatha for over a year, has applied for divorce on Thursday with the Chennai family welfare court.

Krishna married Hemalatha last year on Feb 6.

According to his petition, Krishna has claimed to be a victim of physical and mental harassment from his wife right from the day they got married.

Krishna said his wife wouldn’t let him home when he returned late from shooting on some days, doubted him for having relationship with several women and caused loss of concentration in his work.

Hemalatha, in her petition, pressed dowry charges against her husband and his family. Rubbishing the claim, Krishna said neither he nor his family demanded any money.

Known for working in films such as “Kazhugu” and “Yaamirukka Bayamey”, Krishna has “Yatchan”, “Grahanam” and “Pandigai” in his kitty.
