30 Shirts 'Stitched' for Rajini Murugan

Manigandan KR

Comedy films often succeed at the box office and give one the impression that they are easy to make. However, that is not the case.

Take the case of actor Siva Karthikeyan’s next film Rajini Murugan, which is all set to hit screens soon.

Sources say that the actor plays a guy from the Madurai belt in the film and that director Ponram, who is looking to target the B and C centre audiences, has paid special attention to his dressing sense.

Says Sathiya NJ, the costume designer for the film who will also be designing costumes for the lead pair in director Atlee’s yet to be titled film, “Ponram sir told me that Siva Karthikeyan’s costumes must be colourful. I decided to take this up as a challenge, and came up with costumes in different colours. In particular, I paid attention to the shirts that he wears.”

“The hero will be seen sporting over 30 shirts in this film. All 30 of them were stitched.None of them were readymade pieces as shirts in the colours we wanted were not available. We carefully picked the colours that one would find in the rural side and stitched the shirts,” he adds.
