Premgi Amaren, the son of director Gangai Amaren, is finally becoming a solo hero. His first film as titled Maanga is all set to hit screens on Friday.

Although Premgi has featured in several films before, this will be the first time he will pay the solo lead, and that too in dual roles. “The first role is that of a scientist and the other is that of a person who sports a Bagavathar look in the film,” he said. I have also scored the music for this film.”

Maanga is directed by R S Raja with cinematographer Selva behind the lens and produced by PCK Sakthivel. The film has two heroines Advaitha and Leema.

The actor admits that though he has worked with other directors, his films with his brother Venkat Prabu have made him most popular with the audiences. “My brother is now in the process of discussing another script. Once, that is done, I will look to be a part of the project,” he said.
