In a recent Twitter chat with fans, Arya jovially asked, “What’s jallikattu.” This generally didn’t go well with people on social media, and irked them. Following this, the actor is being trolled for his ‘ignorant’ comment. After ignoring the memes for the past two days, Arya broke his silence saying he supports the sport and is sad that his tweet was misunderstood. On Sunday, he tweeted, “Thank you so much for asking clarification politely. I do support jallikattu. But, it’s sad that they misinterpreted my tweet completely. No worries.” Arya is currently on a break from his next film Kadamban’s schedule and is likely to soon start shooting for director Ameer’s Santhana Devan.
