Filmmaker Caarthick Raju’s last outing was Thirudan Police (2014), which had ‘Attakathi’ Dinesh playing a police constable. The duo’s next flick Ulkuthu, scheduled to be released in August, is an action-based script with loads of humour and family sentiment.

Caarthick says, “Dinesh plays this unusual role of a fish cutter and Nandita Swetha will be seen as a sales girl who works for a textile showroom. The film is based on the fishermen community. We extensively shot in Muttom, near Nagercoil.” The film, set against the mileu of a fish market and seashore, will be realistic, he says. The lives of fish vendors, their sufferings and light-hearted moments have been portrayed. The action scenes in Ulkuthu were helmed in an interesting manner. “The audiences can expect some breathtaking shots.” he adds.  Produced by Kennanya Films, Ulkuthu has Justin Prabhakaran scoring the music and has a huge star cast including Bala Saravanan, Sharat, John Vijay, Chaya Singh, Sriman besides stunt choreographer Dilip Subbarayan and chef Damodharan.
