Remya croons for Semma Botha Aagatha

It looks like when Remya Nambeesan isn’t shooting for movies, she’s busy with playback singing! The actor, whose last outing was Sethupathi (2016), recently crooned a song titled Gaali Pannren, for Yuvan Shankar Raja in the Atharvaa-starrer Semma Botha Aagatha, directed by Badri Venkatesh. The song, which has Anaika Soti, will loosely be along the lines of Kushi’s Kattipudi Kattipudi Da.

Despite its title, we hear that it is a positive film. Sources say the story revolves around a guy who doesn’t get drunk. “It’s going to be a different film in Atharvaa’s career. He decided to produce it as he loved the script. It’s a full-on commercial entertainer and a partial road film,” the source added.

Semma Botha Aagatha, being bankrolled under Atharvaa’s Kiickass Entertainment, features two heroines — Anaika Soti of Kaaviya Thalaivan fame, playing a sex worker, and Bengali girl Mishti Chakraborty, who’s making her acting debut in Tamil cinema. Badri Venkatesh and Atharvaa had previously worked together on Baana Kaathadi in 2010.

The film with five songs has an ensemble cast of John Vijay, Karunakaran, MS Bhaskar and Mano Bala. The source added that the talkie portions have been shot and the team is working on the dubbing. Remya earlier sung numbers like Fy, fy, fy… (Pandyiyanaadu) and Pogathe… (Damal Dumeel). Even in Mollywood, she has worked with leading music directors like M Jayachandran, Gopi Sundar and Sharath.
