More than 20 years later, Prabhu is again working with Sakthi in a film. It may be recalled that the two had earlier worked together in the blockbuster Chinna Thambi (1991) which had been directed by P Vasu. In Chinna Thambi, Sakthi played the role of a young Prabhu.
A newcomer, Gautham V R, is directing the new film in which the two actors will be seen together again. The story of the film has been written by Vimal Peethambaram while its dialogues have been penned by D Ramesh Prabhakaran.
Says a source, “The new film has been titled 7 Naatkal. Nikeesha Patel and Angana Roy play the female leads, which will also feature Ganesh Venkatram, Nasser, M S Baskar, Devadarshini and Reshmi Menon. Interestingly, the film will also feature directors P Vasu and K S Ravikumar as well.”
The source also added that work on the film has been progressing briskly. “The crew is shooting at an apartment in Madhavaram at the moment. The unit intends to complete the film by the end of July,” says the source.
