Five FIRs filed over violent clashes at Nadigar Sangam meet

Five FIRs have been filed and one person arrested after the violent clash between supporters of actors Sarathkumar and Vishal at Sunday's annual meeting of Nadigar Sangam.

CHENNAI: Five FIRs have been filed and one person arrested in connection with the violent clash between supporters of actors Sarathkumar and Vishal at Sunday's annual general body meeting of Nadigar Sangam in the city.

After actor and Nadigar Sangam vice president Karuna’s car was attacked by protesters outside the venue at Habibullah Road, his driver Karthick filed a complaint against Prabhu and supporters of J K Ritheesh.

Prabhu was arrested and later, he too filed a counter complaint against ten supporters of Karuna.

One of the FIRs was on a complaint from a television channel cameraman stating that he was  manhandled by 10 persons. Later, Bala Murugan, an office bearer of the association, filed a complaint against 20 persons for causing ruckus during the general body meeting.

While four FIRs were filed by the Teynampet police, another one by the Virugambakkam police was on a complaint by Vishaal, General Secretary of the Sangam, and his manager, Santhanam, stating that few persons had ransacked the actor's office in the same locality.
