Ajith’s Vivegam and Dhanush’s VIP 2 are getting released this month, which has forced several Tamil films to opt for a September release.

Projects like Maayavan and Magalir Mattum which were supposed to be released this month are among those films postponed. Vijay Sethupathi’s delayed venture Puriyadha Pudhir is set for release on September 1 alongside CV Kumar’s directorial debut, Maayavan.

Server Sundaram’s team has also announced that they will be releasing their film on September 7. Other films planned for a September 8 release include Neruppuda, Karuppan, and Katha Nayagan. 

Mahesh Babu’s Spyder will be released in both Tamil and Telugu on September 27 while Sivakarthikeyan’s Velaikkaran has been planned for release on September 29.

If things go as per plan, Bala’s Naachiyaar starring Jyothika and GV Prakash will also join the puja holidays battle.
