Director Vijay, who’s working on the post-production of Jayam Ravi-starrer Vanamagan, has already begun shooting his next, Karu, which has Sai Pallavi in the lead.

Buzz is that the project will be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. It is to be noted that his last film, Devi(l), was a bilingual too.

Vijay says, “I wrote the script three-and-a-half years ago. The story has a universal connect, and is about the relationship between a mother and a daughter. We will begin the second schedule in June after Vanamagan gets released. We are also on the lookout for a child artiste to play an important role.” Naga Shourya of Jyo Achyutananda fame plays one of the pivotal roles.

Lyca Productions is bankrolling this project, which has cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Antony. Karu will mark Sai Pallavi’s offical debut in Tamil. The director refused to comment on the genre of the film.
