Last seen in 2013’s Pattathu Yaanai, Moulee, who has been busy with television series, comes back to the big screen with Embiran. The romantic thriller is directed by debutant Krishna Pandi, former assistant of Magizh Thirumeni.

About working with Moulee, the director says, “Moulee sir can be called the godfather of our film. I am extremely delighted to work with such a veteran in my first film. He plays the heroine’s grandfather and his characterisation will be filled with suspense. I’m sure that everyone is going to love his role.” Krishna goes on to talk about the film: “Though it’s a romantic thriller, I’ve consciously avoided the typical commercial format. The story will start from the perspective of the heroine and end with the hero. The pattern of the screenplay will be completely new to the Tamil audience.”

Starring Ninaithathu Yaaro-fame Rejith Menon and Kannada actor Radhika Preethi in the lead, the film has been primarily shot in Chennai and Puducherry. The film with music by Prasan Praveen Shyam is expected to hit the screens in August.
