Debutant director Balaji Vairamuthu has wrapped up shooting for a supernatural thriller titled Pancharaksharam. This film has an ensemble cast that includes Sana Altaf (of Chennai 600028: II Innings fame), Madhu Shalini (Avan Ivan), Gokul (Chennai 2 Singapore), Ashwin Jerome (Yaanum Theeyavan) and Santhosh Prathap (Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam).

Speaking about the film, Ashwin Jerome says, "We've finished the shoot already. It's a film about friends, which is something we haven't seen in recent times in Tamil cinema. But it'll also be a different film with an interesting story. We've shot the film throughout Tamil Nadu. We expect the film will be released by the end of this year."

KS Sundaramurthy, who composed music for 8 Thottakkal, has been roped in as the music director, while Yuva is handling the cinematography for the film bankrolled by Paradox Production.
