Filmmaker Vincent Selva, who has directed Vijay twice in Priyamudan and Youth, is back in action with Vettaiyan. The film, whose title was revealed recently by Suriya, will mark the acting debut of stunt master Stun Siva.

Speaking about the film, the director says, “The project is in the nascent stage; we’re currently in discussion. The shooting will begin from the first week of September and the entire film will be shot extensively in the Talakona forests as well as in Kerala. Vettaiyan will be an out and out action film — something that we haven’t had in a long time in Tamil cinema. While technicians from different aspects of filmmaking such as musicians, dancers, and lyricists have tried their hand in acting, this will be the first time a stunt master is acting in the lead.”

While the rest of the cast is yet to be finalised, the film, produced by Nimo Productions, will have music by Achu Rajamani, while Venkatesh and Antony will take care of cinematography and editing, respectively.
