Tamil film producer Rajan killed self over Rs 20 crore unpaid loans’

Rajan's kin said they would file a complaint with the Tamil Film Producers Council against the producers who failed to repay the money borrowed from him.

CHENNAI: The family members of film producer K Rajan alleged severe mental stress caused by unpaid loans worth nearly Rs 20 crore had pushed him into depression and ultimately forced him to end his life.

They said they would file a complaint with the Tamil Film Producers Council against the producers who failed to repay the money borrowed from him.

The relatives and family members said Rajan was under treatment for a heart ailment and had been living in isolation since the Covid-19 pandemic.
