Director P. Vasu is elated with the grand success of his recent Kannada film 'Aaptha Rakshaka', which happens to be the last project of late director Vishnuvardhan. He has now completed remaking the film in Telugu titled 'Nagavalli – Chandramukhi 2'. The film features Venkatesh in the lead role with hottie Anushka, Kamalini Mukherji, Richa Gangapodhyay and Shraddha Das as the female leads.

The film is a supernatural thriller that revolves around a family residing in Mysore. One of the family members win a giant sized ‘Nagavalli’ portrait of Nagavalli in a dance competition. Soon, they are exposed to unexpected nightmares and are haunted by mysterious incidents. Now they turn towards Ramachandra Acharya and Dr Vijay, the psychiatrist for help to solve the mystery.

The original version had late actor Vishnuvardhan playing dual roles as a psychiatrist and a 125 -year-old king.

Earlier P. Vasu had plans about remaking the film in Tamil with Superstar Rajnikanth titled ‘Chandramukhi-2’. However, the project didn’t happen as the actor got busy with Shankar’s 'Endhiran'. Later, Rajnikanth himself recommended Ajith Kumar for playing the lead character. But again, Ajith Kumar got busy with Mankatha and P. Vasu with Telugu remake of 'Nagavalli' and Tamil movie 'Puli Vesham'.

'Nagavalli' is scheduled to hit screens on December 2.
