Film actor Rami Reddy passes away

The actor, known for villain's roles in Telugu and Hindi, passed away while undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment.

HYDERABAD: Film actor Rami Reddy, known for villain's roles in Telugu and Hindi films, passed away here today while undergoing treatment for a kidney ailment.

Reddy (52) who was undergoing treatment for the past couple of weeks, died at a private hospital in Secunderabad at around 11 this morning. He is survived by two daughters and a son.

Rami Reddy became popular with his role in Ankusam'. He acted in as many as 250 films in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam and Bhojpuri.

The final rites would be conducted at Punjagutta crematorium here this evening.

Hailing from Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, Reddy started his career as a journalist before entering into the film industry.

Comedian Brahmanandam termed the sudden demise of Reddy as a big loss for the film industry. "He (Rami Reddy) was a great actor," Brahmanandam said.
