HYDERABAD: The shooting of Sunil-starrer 'Poolarangadu', which was being conducted at a temple in Shamshabad was obstructed on Wednesday for sometime by locals who alleged the film unit was disturbing sanctity of the temple.

According to police and locals, shooting of the film was being held since the past nine days in the Ammapally temple in Narkoda village of Shamshabad mandal. Sunil is playing lead role with Isha Chawla opposite him and it is being directed by Veerabhadram Choudary.

With the film unit and its vehicles creating problems for devotees and locals, villagers staged a protest demanding the unit to pack up. A fight sequence is reportedly planned at the temple.

The villagers alleged that obscene love scenes, song sequences and violent scenes were being shot and it was disturbing sanctity of the temple.

The film unit reportedly had permission to conduct shooting for a few days but they allegedly went on even after the scheduled days. Police reached the place and pacified villagers. The unit later convinced police and villagers they would complete the shooting in 15 days and leave the place. This is the second time a film shoot has been disrupted in the past couple of months.
