Film director EVV passes away

The noted filmmaker who had been ailing from mouth cancer for sometime, died due to cardiac arrest in Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD: Noted producer-director EVV Satyanarayana, who introduced Pavan Kalyan ('Akkada Abbai Ikkada Ammayi') to the silver screen, died here late this night.

Satyanarayana (53), who had been ailing from mouth cancer for sometime, died due to cardiac arrest at Apollo Hospital, Jubilee Hills.

Satyanarayana was born at Korumamidi village in West Godavari district on June 10, 1958. He was admitted to hospital on January 19.

EVV's first film as a director was 'Chevilo Puvvu'. He also directed 'Alluda Majaka', 'Aame', and came to fame with super hit film 'Prema Khaidi' starring Harish and Malasri.

He also started producing more films. Katti Kantharao was his last film.

His first movie in comedy genre was 'Appula Apparao'.

He also directed sentimental movies like 'Kanyaadhaanam' apart from commercial movies like 'Vaarasudu' and 'Hello Brother'.

He is survived by wife Saraswathi, sons Aryan Rajesh and Allari Naresh, who are also in the film industry.
