Chiru's Landmark Project Launched: Pawan Kalyan Misses the Event

The film, which is being directed by VV Vinayak, will be the Telugu remake of Kaththi.

The long-awaited, highly-anticipated 150th film of Megastar Chiranjeevi has finally been launched formally. The film, which is being directed by VV Vinayak, will be the Telugu remake of Kaththi. The landmark project will be the first venture for Ram Charan's new banner, the Konidela Production Company.

In a special gathering attended by immediate family, close friends and several key members from a crew, was a traditional affair. The proceedings started with a Pooja  followed by the symbolic 'First Shot', which was powered on by Allu Aravind and directed by Chiru's brother Naga Babu. The shoot began with it's first clap by Paruchuri Venkatashwara.

Tollywood's leading music director Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) will provide the music for the film, while Rathnavelu will be the cinematographer for this project. The yet-untitled-project is slated for a Pongal 2017 release. The lead actress, is yet to be confirmed.

The private launch event, held at Konidela Production Company's office, was graced by the Megastar's immediate family and friends, including Allu Arjun, Varun Tej, Sai Dharam Tej, Naga babu, Allu Arvind, Koratala Siva, Sharath Marar, Gemini Kiran, DVV Danayya, Thirupati Prasad, Paruchuri Venkateshwara and family members. However, Pawan Kalyan was yet again conspicuous by his absence. Pawan also missed the wedding of Chiru's daughter Srija last month to shoot for his recently released Sardaar Gabbar Singh.
