While India's total spending on healthcare has rised steadily, it remains extremely low as a percentage of GDP. According to data put out by KPMG in a recent study, healthcare spending as a percentage of GDP is a concern because it is comparatively low at approximately 4 per cent. And more than two-thirds of the expenditure is borne by the individuals themselves.
