By-polls in four Assembly seats in Andhra Pradesh, Goa and Delhi

Assembly by-polls are being held on four seats in three states – in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal, Delhi’s Bawana and Goa’s Valpoi and Panaji today.

The by-poll in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal has been necessitated by the death of the sitting MLA – Bhuma Venkata Nagi Reddy. The Telugu Desam Party legislator passed away following a cardiac arrest. (EPS)

The TDP has fielded YSR Congress Party chief Jaganmohan Reddy’s nephew Brahmananda Reddy, while the YSRCP has put up former minister Silpa Chandra Mohan Reddy, who lost the seat as a TDP nominee in 2014. (EPS)

DELHI: Bypoll in North Delhi constituency Bawana is being held as Aam Aadmi Party legislator Ved Parkash had quit the assembly to join Bharatiya Janata Party ahead of the municipal elections in April. Voting underway.(ANI)
