HYDERABAD: Come winter and the City of Pearls gets alive with a lot of literary activities. What’s icing on the cake is when the city-based poets are invited as poet delegates by prestigious literary festivals that are organised during the cold months. Four poets from the city have been invited to the seventh annual edition of Goa Arts & Literature Festival (GALF).

GALF, 2016 will showcase a variety of languages that include Kannada, Malyalam, Hindi, Khasi, Asomiya, Marathi, Konkani and of course English and Portuguese. The poets invited from the city are: Nabina Das, Saima Afreen,  Paresh Tiwari and Akila Gopalakrishnan.

The festival begins on December 8 and will continue till 11 at the International Centre Goa, Dona Paula. Other eminent guest authors and poets are: Arshia Sattar, Ranjit Hoskote, Jerry Pinto, Darshan Darshi, Edwin Thumboo, Nabaneeta Dev Sen, Rochelle Potkar, Sathya Saran K Satchidanandan, Manoj Nair and the trailblazer writer Rana Ayyub.
