Fake baba arrested for duping family

A 30-year-old person, who allegedly duped a family on pretext of performing black magic to cast away evil spirit after collecting `70 lakh, was arrested by the Asifnagar police on Saturday.

HYDERABAD: A 30-year-old person, who allegedly duped a family on pretext of performing black magic to cast away evil spirit after collecting `70 lakh, was arrested by the Asifnagar police on Saturday. The arrested is Syed Akhot Ghori. Sub-inspector B Kumara Swamy said that one Syed Razi, was facing financial issues as his two sons finished higher education but failed to get jobs. Razi received information about the accused by a woman and he approached Syed Akhot Ghori. 

“The accused used to be a baba in Karnataka and practiced black magic. When Razi approached him, the accused informed to complainant that the family need to get rid of evil spirit and would perform black magic and the accused collected `70 lakh,’’ the sub-inspector said. Later the accused performed some pooja at the residence of Razi but the latter’s sons failed to get jobs. Razi realised that he was duped by the accused and lodged a complaint with police.
