LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati will Sunday expand her cabinet, official sources said.

According to the sources, Governor B.L. Joshi will swear in the new members at the Raj Bhawan here at 6 p.m.

According to one account, Mayawati proposes to induct four new faces in her ministry besides affecting a reshuffle in which two ministers are likely to be dropped.

Her former state party president Swami Prasad Maurya, who had also been a minister in the past, was likely to be inducted into the cabinet.

This would be the fourth cabinet expansion since Mayawati formed her government in May 2007.

The move follows the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) sweeping victory in this month's 11 assembly by-elections. The BSP won nine of the 11 seats and crushed the opposition.
