LUCKNOW: In the wake of the Liberhan Commission probe report leaked to the press accusing top leaders of the Sangh Parivar of being privy to all decisions related to the Babri Mosque demolition on December 6, 1992, the Babri Masjid Action Committee (BMAC) has sought action against BJP leader L K Advani and others but appeared undecided about former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, who too has been reportedly indicted.

BMAC convener Zafaryab Jilani said that the Liberhan Commission report, now that it has been leaked, should be immediately tabled in Parliament and the criminal conspiracy charges against Advani and seven others that were dropped by a special CBI court a few years ago should be restored.

He said the committee would discuss whether action should be initiated against Vajpayee or not because the BMAC had not charged him of any conspiracy though many Muslim as well as other secular leaders had always suspected him to have played a vital role.

“Now that the Commission has reportedly charged him as well, along with others from the BJP, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the RSS, the Shiv Sena and the Bajrang Dal, so we in the BMAC and AIMPLB need to discuss it, considering his present health,” he said.
