NEW DELHI: The faction-ridden BJP, passing through a rough patch, with the RSS donning the role of a Big Brother, sees an opportunity in the Liberhan Commission Report ‘leak’.

And Leader of Opposition L K Advani has risen again even if ostensibly to clear former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee of an unwarranted indictment. It is time to remember Ram once again, and refresh memories of those heady days before the mosque was brought down, those days of the Rath Yatra.

The veterans – Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu – see a lifeline in the leak, and were vying to take “pride” on being associated with the Ram Temple Movement.

Agitated that Vajpayee’s has been dragged in, Advani and the others succeeded in paralyzing proceedings in both Houses of Parliament, at the same time restricting their focus on the “plant” of the story.

The leadership wants to patch-up with the RSS by taking pride on being “associated with the Ram Mandir Movement.”
