Political bug bites Team Anna

Amid lack of response from the UPA Government and deteriorating health of its fasting activists, Team Anna blinked first and announced its willingness to take the plunge into politics and decided to call off its hunger strike on Friday eveing.

The anti-corruption crusaders decided to conduct a referendum among its supporters on whether they should float a political party or not.

On Thursday, Anna Hazare announced that his associates wanted feedback on the question within 48 hours.

“There is nothing wrong with forming a party...we need  to provide an alternative to the people,” he said.

Hazare’s announcement to call off the fast at 5 pm on Friday was preceded by an appeal from 22 eminent people.
