Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who is set to become Chief Minister of Delhi, refused the high security cover provided by Delhi Police, saying “God is his biggest security.

Replying to a letter from additional commissioner of Delhi (Security) V Renganathan, offering Z-category security for CMs, Kejriwal thanked them for their offer but said he doesn’t need any security, escort or Personal Security Officer (PSO). “God is my biggest security,” he wrote. He, however, asked the police to provide some help in crowd management or security at his venues.

AAP, which decided to form the government in Delhi with outside support from Congress, said it was  not sure about the longevity of the ministry. Making it clear that AAP won’t accept any of Congress’ conditions, implement its own agenda and fulfil promises, Prashant Bhushan on Monday said, “If Congress and BJP join hands to pull down our government, it’s their wish.” The BJP, however, slammed AAP’s decision to form the government in Delhi with the support of “corrupt” Congress. “AAP had made promises and vowed to fight corruption but today it entered into an alliance with corruption,” Delhi BJP leader Harsh Vardhan said.

Sheila Dikshit, former CM of Delhi, said Congress has not extended unconditional support to AAP in Delhi. She said the Congress never said they would extend unconditional support.

Commenting on AAP’s promises to cut power tariff by 50 per cent, construct 500 schools and provide 700 litres free water every day, Dikshit said Congress wondered whether those promises could be fulfilled. “The Congress, with its experience of administration, does not feel such promises can be delivered. But if they can it is well and good,” she said.

Delhi PCC chief Arvinder Singh Lovely said, in a democracy, when one contests polls one must deliver. He said the Congress was giving outside support, clarifying that the support was not unconditional. Lovely said their support was to the promises made to the Delhi people.
