Haryana has got a railway line after 33 years with the newly-constructed Rewari-Jhajjar-Rohtak railway line being inaugurated Tuesday, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said.

Built at a cost of Rs.602 crore, the 81-km railway line will link Rewari and Rohtak towns, connecting south Haryana with other parts of the state.

Hooda said Haryana had got the last railway line in 1979 between Bhiwani and Rohtak.

Pointing out that the new railway line will provide a link between Chandigarh and Jaipur, Hooda urged the railways ministry to start a Shatabdi Express train between these two state capitals.

The foundation stone of the Rewari-Rohtak line was laid in 2007.
