Sahitya Akademi Writers From Goa Launch Campaign

Fourteen Sahitya Akademi award winning writers from Goa today came together to launch a campaign to condemn the recent killing of rationalists and writers in the country.

PANAJI: Fourteen Sahitya Akademi award winning writers from Goa today came together to launch a campaign to condemn the recent killing of rationalists and writers in the country.

The Konkani writers met in the Goa Chamber of Commerce to launch their protest, which they said would be joined by other authors and artists and continue till the upcoming international film festival here.

Konkani writer N Shivdas said, "We have unanimously decided to agitate. This has not happened before in any state. We plan to continue the agitation till the international film festival."

Naik, Dilip Borkar, Gokuldas Prabhu, Mahabaleshwar Sail, Prakash Damodar Padgaonkar, Tukaram Rama Shet and Arun Sakhardande participated in today's meet, which was also attended by Padma Shri-winning author Maria Aurora Couto.
