Express News Service

CHANDIGARH:With the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib snowballing into a major row, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday submitted a letter on the incident to Akal Takht high priest Gurbachan Singh. “In the last few days, incidents that occurred in Punjab are highly painful, which hurt sentiments deeply. Being an administrative Head of the State, I understand and realise the present situation,’’ the letter said. While advising the Sikhs to shun violence under all circumstances, but remain cautious, the Akal Takht termed the incident a “deep-rooted” conspiracy to hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community.
