Derailment of goods train in Karnataka diverts many-a-train, hits rail traffic

At least 12 trains were diverted towards Hotagi- Guntakal line, Wadi - Latur- Manmad line after the incident.

KALABURAGI: The derailment of five wagons of a goods train near Dudhani, Maharashtra bordering Kalaburagi district suspended or diverted train services between Kalaburagi and Mumbai via Solapur on Sunday night. No casualties have been reported.     

The goods train was going towards Hutagi from Wadi Junction. Due to the derailment, train services from Solapur to Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad via Kalaburagi are affected, said officials from central railways. Delhi bound KK Express from Bengaluru was also delayed.

Diversions are taking place wherever possible from Wadi and Solapur while Kalaburagi railway station has announced the delay. Cleaning of the tracks is underway and should conclude by evening, sources said.
