CHANDIGARH: Fire engulfed four manufacturing units in the Kundli Industrial Area in Haryana's Sonipat district early Friday, but no one was injured in the blaze, police said.

The fire broke out in one unit and soon spread to three other units, they said.

Several fire tenders were rushed to the site and the flames were brought under control after hours.

"Four units were engulfed in the flames and it took many hours for the fire tenders to bring it under control," said SHO of Kundli Police Station, Inspector Sethi Malik, over the phone.

He said no one was injured in the incident.

Home appliances such as coolers and fans are manufactured in the units which caught fire, he said.

An electrical short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.

However, the exact reason will be ascertained after investigation, he said.
