Two mild earthquakes strike Sikkim, none hurt

The magnitude 3.6 quake occurred at 4:26 am around 10.7 km northwest of Gangtok at a shallow depth of 5 km, while another struck 11.2 km west of the city at a depth of 10 km.

Gangtok: Two back-to-back earthquakes of magnitude 3.6 and 2.7 hit Sikkim's Gangtok in the early hours of Friday, officials said.

The magnitude 3.6 quake occurred at 4:26 am around 10.7 km northwest of Gangtok at a shallow depth of 5 km, while another struck 11.2 km west of the city at a depth of 10 km, the National Centre for Seismology said.

There were no reports of any injury or damage to property from any part of the Himalayan state, the officials said.
