Karavali Utsav off to a colourful start

KARWAR:The three-day Karavali Utsav-2017 commenced in Karwar on Friday. Hundreds of artistes of state and national repute performed on the first day.In the afternoon, comedian Gangavati Pranesh and team presented Nage Habba at Zilla Rangamandir.

Rear Admiral K J Kumar, Flag Officer Commanding, Karnataka Naval Area, inaugurated the fruit-cum-flower exhibition at Warship Museum garden at Ravindranath Tagore beach. ZP CEO L Chandrashekar Naik was present.

Floral designs of giraffe, peacock, Sukhoi fighter jet, heart and hornbill attracted the crowds. Fruit artists from Sadashivgad near Karwar carved the faces of Yakshagana artiste Chittani Ramachandra Hegde, Prime Minister Narendra Modi among other famous personalities.A rangoli competition was organised for women on the DC office premises in the city. As many as 40 women from various taluks participated.
