 The Agriculture Department has launched ‘Ockhi cell’ to address the crop loss being suffered by farmers in the cyclone, at the office of the Principal Agriculture Office.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Agriculture Department has launched ‘Ockhi cell’ to address the crop loss being suffered by farmers in the cyclone, at the office of the Principal Agriculture Office. The cell will process the applications submitted by farmers at various  Krishi Bhavans in the district. The cell will function even on holidays.”We have taken steps to provide aid at the earliest. Those who have not applied should make use of the facility,” said principal agriculture officer Mini K Rajan. The financial aid will reach the accounts of eligible farmers directly. Those who have insured their crop will get their claims before Tuesday.
