Divya Vanissery believes in being fit and healthy. The 36-year-old mother of three is riding on back to back victories. After being selected as a finalist in the Mrs India 2017 competition held in May, Divya will now be heading to South Africa for the grand finale.

The owner of fitness centre Bodifit, the Muvattapuzha native says the journey has so far been a dream-come-true. “I was fascinated with catwalks since a very young age. It took me a couple of years for me to reach this place and I am so happy,” she said.

Though a confident person, Divya admits she was a bit apprehensive when the pageants set to a start. “It was a bit scary, but I was able to shed my fears once I was able to get a hang of things. The sessions helped me as well,” she said.

The procedures
The finalist says the initial selection process was held online. There were two stages. First was a telephonic interview followed by video conferencing. She loved the grooming sessions. “I felt like a curious kid. Many things were very different to me, but it was interesting,” she said.

The talent show, audio-visual rounds and the finale were competitive but a chance to exhibit her style, says Divya, who says her husband Boby was her greatest inspiration.  Divya hopes to enter modelling in the future. Her message to all married woman is, “Just hold on to your dreams. Don’t let it go,” she says.
