I met a sadhu once in the Himalayas. He narrated a series of bizarre incident of one of his disciples who frequented the holy mountain that belongs to Kali. A devotee’s younger brother, very jealous of his elder brother’s prosperity, did special prayers to the goddess. That was for bad things to happen to him—sure it did. His daughter suffered from a strange mental disease, his car met with several crashes and even when it was in the garage for service, the roof crashed on the vehicle.

Well, the karma or action a person does in the past returns to him—in difficult situations. For instance, a girl who is ravishingly beautiful is walking down the road. Another person, who feels he doesn’t have such good looks, instantly lets of a thought energy with the vibrations of, “Oh how beautiful she is! How I wish I were like her!” It may not be a conscious thought, but damage is done at the level of inter-personal energy dynamics. The woman at the receiving end is likely to suffer some discomfort, disease, injury or misfortune that her karma allows.

The practices of removing negative energy and the evil eye involves taking a pumpkin three times around a person in an anti-clockwise direction and breaking the pumpkin on the road. It is dangerous to stamp on such pumpkins and limes with bare feet or even with footwear, not only because of the skidding it may cause. The object has become a receptacle of all these energy particles that are coated with bad intentions and it has a capacity to damage the person who stamps on it. It is an energy hygiene to enter into your house by washing your feet and also hands as the palms and the feet are sensitive receivers of energies—good and bad.
