Chintan Patel is one of the leading names in the textile industry of India. His conglomerate Deesan Group is responsible for a major portion of shirting fabric and towel manufacturing in India as well as abroad. Patel has also invested in a lot of philanthropic work as well, including education, rainwater harvesting, and farmer welfare.
This year, Patel was honoured at The Global National India Stardom Awards 2022 for contribution in the field of education. Patel runs hundreds of schools and colleges across Maharashtra, especially in his hometown, Shirpur. He had to move to Mumbai from Shirpur to get better education. Therefore, he is ensuring that every child in Shirpur receives education without the need to leave their homes.
Patel was also bestowed with the Philanthropist of the Year at Iconic Gold Awards 2021, as well as the Met Connect Social Entrepreneur Award 2022, along with his father Amrish Patel, for contribution in the field of water conservation. His work towards rainwater harvesting is known as the 'Shirpur Pattern' all across Maharashtra. The much appreciated water conservation framework has been emulated in Bengaluru and other cities across India.
